"As Long As I’ve Got You” is a reggae tribute to a classic soul sample used by RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan for one of their best- known tracks, “C.R.E.A.M.” from their 1993 debut album “Enter the 36 Chambers”.
Produced by Matia ‘Ambassa’ Gobbo and mixed by italian dubmaster Paolo Baldini, the track features the vocals of Nichola Richards, London-born soul singer & songwriter who already re-interpreted the previous single “After Laughter Comes Tears”.
Pressed on limited edition 7” (100x white signed vinyl, 200x black vinyl) the single anticipates the upcoming album “Ride The Samples”, a project which pays tribute to the original samples behind some of the most classic hip-hop tunes of the late 90ies.
The B-side of the track is a powerful dubmix by Paolo Baldini, the title pays tribute to the title of the original song. “D.R.E.A.M. (Dub Rules Everything Around Me)” is again our take on “C.R.E.A.M. (Cash Rules Everything Around Me)”, the title of the original Wu-Tang Clan song.
